Baram Oil Field is located offshore Miri, Sarawak and has been operating since 1968. It has 2 main complexes Baram A and Baram B.

 

In October 2020 MV Dayang Topaz vessel, came into contact with platform structures at Baram B after its anchor wire gave way during adverse weather. Damage due to the vessel impact were at BADP-B, BAP-B, the bridge between BAP-B & BAK-B and BAK-B platform. The vessel also made contact with bridge between BAK-B and BAKP-B.

 

DESB was awarded the EPCIC contract by PCSB to remove the broken and damaged structures and re-instate with new parts to ensure the platform can continue operation. DAR was nominated as the detailed engineering contractor to review, study, analyse and redesign all replacement and modified parts. .
